We bid a final farewell on Saturday to a man whose legacy will endure in the Ohio judicial system for generations to come.
In a Law Day memorial tribute at The Ohio State University, more than 700 gathered to remember the remarkable life of Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer who died in office on April 2 just two weeks shy of his 71st birthday and 24 years as the Chief.

As a former teacher and a judge, I take very seriously my obligation to fulfill the mandate in the Ohio Code of Judicial Conduct, which requires that “A judge should initiate and participate in activities for the purpose of promoting public understanding of and confidence in the administration of justice. In conducting such activities, the judge must act in a manner consistent with this code” 1.2 (Comment 6).

By allowing comments to be posted, I am able to interact with the public I serve to further the cause of an understandable and accessible judiciary.
